IN THE KNOW: Is Musuan Peak or Mt. Calayo an active volcano?

Without intent to be alarmist, Bukidnon News tried to research on the question that bogged the public’s mind for years.

We refer to the following list:

The Philippine Institute for Volcanology and Seismology listedthe 22 active volcanoes in the country: including their location in grid, province, their height, number of historical eruptions and their latest eruption of activity.

Bukidnon’s Mt. Musuan is one of the country’s 22 active volcanoes.

  1. Please take note that this is listed in alphabetical order.

Posting on the story is not meant to scare the public. There were questions in our inboxes about the quakes allegedly about volcanic activity. The PhiVolcs has spoken that the origins of the tremors are tectonic.

We take into account the official statement.

However, it was not also meant to belie that Musuan Peak is a volcano. The peak IS a volcano, PHiVolcs sources say.

    Thanks for reading!
